Ground and temporary works
Cut and fill, support of excavation, dewatering, disposal and haulage. The volume and the sequence drive the number more than the permanent material.
Practice
James Professional Services is Jamie Martin’s company. The work is commercial and specific to civil engineering: estimates, bills, procurement, tenders, quantity surveying and project management for groundworks, drainage, highways, utilities and infrastructure packages. There is no larger office hiding behind the name.
Jamie is based in Rogerstone and studied at the University of the West of England. The company was incorporated on 23 March 2021. Clients and contractors are across South Wales and into Bristol — special education, healthcare, heritage, schools, and ordinary civil packages when the documents need to be right.
Appointments are taken on either side of the contract. If there is a conflict with a project already in the office, it will be said at the start rather than discovered at the first valuation.
The useful number is the one somebody else can rebuild from the notes.
Cut and fill, support of excavation, dewatering, disposal and haulage. The volume and the sequence drive the number more than the permanent material.
Pipework, chambers, connections and the unknowns that sit below the surface. Depth, ground conditions and temporary works are the usual variables.
Pavement, kerbs, traffic management and the programme constraints of working on or near the public highway.
Foundations, retaining walls, school and healthcare extensions, and the points where civil packages meet a building or existing infrastructure.
